Group vaulting classes
Morning Star Vaulters 2025 schedule:
Current and returning vaulting students have priority on available spots!
Note: Vaulting Classes are weather dependent so rain, extreme cold or wind or heat or poor air quality will cancel!
For our purposes, Beginners are those new to vaulting and who cannot yet perform the compulsories or freestyle at the trot
Intermediates are those who can perform the compulsories and a one minute freestyle routine at trot
Advanced are those who can mount and perform compulsories and their freestyle at the canter
For vaulters 6 years or younger, a parent or responsible adult must be present the entire practice.
Monday - noon to 1pm - Vintage Vaulters - A fun fitness class for older adults (60 and up) who want to improve their strength, flexibility, balance, and endurance while having fun with horses outdoors! (and while children and younger adults are at school or work!)
Tuesday - Horses and coach's day off!
Wednesday - 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm intermediate to advanced all ages
3:30 pm to 5:00 pm beginner and intermediate 6 to 10 year old Class is FULL
Thursday - 1:30 pm to 3:00pm - beginner to advanced 6 to 12 yr old Class is FULL
3:30 to 5:00pm - beginner and intermediate 6 to 8 year old Class is FULL
Friday - private lessons by appointment
Saturday - 10:00 am to 11:30 beginner to advanced 8 to 12 year old
Sunday - 12:30 - 2:00 intermediate to advanced 12 and older
2:00 pm to 3:30 pm 12 and older intermediate
Although Morning Star Vaulters is not currently a competitive vaulting club, vaulters are coached to the standards put forth for equestrian vaulting competitions by Equestrian Vaulting USA (formerly the AVA) and the United States Equestrian Federation.
Competitive levels:
Tiny Tots - 6 yrs and younger at the walk with side walker when needed
Walk - for those who are not yet ready for trot and are older than six
Preliminary Trot - beginning level ages 7 and older 1* compulsories
Trot - attaining compulsory scores of 5 or better 1* compulsories
NOTE: FOR ALL LEVELS TROT AND BELOW, AN ASSISTED MOUNT IS NOW REQUIRED IN COMPETITION even on the barrel!
CANTER LEVELS:
Copper - beginning level for canter 1* compulsories and freestyle with only Easy and Medium moves allowed.
Bronze - next canter level with 1* compulsories performed both to left and to right Difficult but no R moves or aerials
Silver - next canter level with 2* compulsories (performed both to left and to the right) and freestyle
Young/Gold - Canter 2 * compulsories with comps only to the left, technical and freestyle
3* Individual Canter (was called Gold Level) 3* compulsories, technical and freestyle
Vaulting Class Rates
These Rates will be effective February 2024 to help cover the ever increaing vaulting horse care expenses!
The monthly boarding rates, farrier care, nutritional supplements and vet care have all increased dramatically in the past year (just as everything else has) The vaulting fees cover the monthly board, farrier care (hoof trims and horse shoes), vet care (yearly vaccines, dental and emergencies), supplemental feed and vitamins and any equipment, arena or grooming supplies needed.
Pay Per Practice:
Regular group Practices ....... $40 per class
One-time Introductory Class for 1 to 3 vaulters ......... $60
Pay Per Month (pre-paid):
1x per Week (4 lessons) ...............$140 as of February 2024
2x per Week (8 lessons)...............$250 as of February 2024
Private Lesson Rates are dependent on level and length of lesson. Private lessons are made though coach, Carolyn Conner.
We accept cash or checks made out to Morning Star Vaulters.
